I think the last quote sums it up nicely: "Hard skills are needed to be an instructor, soft skills are needed to be a successful instructor." With my students, I will take out "instructor" and insert their intended professions.

It seems that these skills are interrelated.  If you choose to work on one, you work on multiple skills.  For example, when you work on problem-solving, you are also developing skills in communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and leadership.

The teacher is a role model.  What we show will often be more important than what we know.  I thought integrity would be #1.  If you have integrity then you should be a team player, dependable, have a positive attitude, etc.  Since 55% of communication is nonverbal, we need to be aware of our nonverbal cues.  We are the starting point to professionalism .  We must model what constitutes a good professional.

Continue to learn new things and have more hands on training would really help.

Teamwork is always  important i always make sure my students work in teams, when they get out in the Aviation work force they will be on team builder teams.

Soft skills are essential in today’s workplace because they enable individuals to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, adapt to change, and resolve conflicts professionally. Unlike technical skills, soft skills such as emotional intelligence, active listening, and problem-solving enhance how people interact and build relationships, making teams more cohesive and productive. In a fast-paced and diverse work environment, strong soft skills are often what differentiate good professionals from great ones.

The use of computers is mandatory in this day and age however, you can always improve on your skills whether it be organizational or being able to troubleshoot common computer problems all will help you save time and be more successful in the future.

Lifelong learning in crucial to becoming a good instructor, always wanting to learn new things and being able to reflect on weak parts of yourself are key parts to becoming better and better each day.

Never forget the importance of non-verbal communication. Students will always pick up on the ques and could reflect badly on the instructor if they are presenting the wrong ques.

A good refresher on the importance of positive correction to make sure you do not deter the student from participating in the class.
